Also failed research deserves an award

A unique combination of art and research that does not generate the desired results: the Trial and Error Award

Utrecht Young Academy and the Journal of Trial and Error have asked fifteen talented students from the Sint Lucas school for creative talents in Boxtel to design an award for failure. Each design tells its own story about resilience and perseverance.

The Trial and Error Award, designed by Isolde Eickmans, is a tribute to the often undervalued aspect of research: learning from failure. But also the other designs testify to resilience and insights gained after overcoming research challenges. All fifteen designs are on display in the exhibition that runs from 18 January to 21 February and can be found in the hall of Utrecht University City Centre.
