Closing conference: Blueprints of Hope
On 7 May, the closing conference for the Bluepints of Hope NWO project takes place. Project members will present the main findings of their research project (2016-2023), which sought spiritual, emotional, and economic roots of European integration.
European integration
During the conference Ton van den Brink will present the synthesis of the project, which was written by our former colleague Mathieu Segers. It was published under the title The Origins of European Integration: The Pre-History of Today’s European Union, 1937-1951 (Cambridge University Press, 2023). We will do so, however, with a heavy heart since Mathieu Segers passed away in December 2023.
The full programme can be found below. Afterwards, you are also invited to join us for drinks. Note that the programme will be in Dutch, except for the panel discussion led by Giles Scott-Smith (Leiden University), which will be conducted in English.
