Spinoza's Web

This is the first comprehensive and exhaustive bibliographical survey of the works of the Dutch philosopher Benedictus de Spinoza (1632–1677) printed in the seventeenth century. It is the outcome of research carried out in the Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies at Utrecht University as part of the project ‘Spinoza’s Web’, funded by The Dutch Research Council NWO (2014-2017). The team consisted of prof. dr. Piet Steenbakkers (principal investigator) and the postdoctoral researchers Albert Gootjes and Jeroen van de Ven.

Open Access

The book was published by Brill in Leiden and is available both as a large format hardback and as ebook in Open Access. For its publication Van de Ven received generous support from NWO, the Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies, and the Descartes Centre.

The book launch (in Dutch) will take place on Friday 8 July 2022, 3-5 PM, in Utrecht (Drift 25, room 203). To register or for more information please send an email to Piet Steenbakkers.
