Crucial humanities field of research

“We are very excited about this appointment,” says Thomas Vaessens, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities. “Sven is a leading researcher, an experienced administrator, and an utterly pleasant colleague, who exudes calmness and confidence. His ideas on further strengthening humanities research in its full breadth are ambitious and inspiring.”

“The humanities are crucial in analysing, interpreting, and solving the big social questions we face today,” Sven Dupré says. “These questions require the inter- and transdisciplinary research that our faculty so richly endows. In my new role, I look forward to creating the conditions to help strengthen collaborations inside and outside the faculty and the connection with the wider society.”
