Rubicon grant Elbert de Jong
Dr Elbert de Jong (Utrecht Centre for Accountability and Liability Law, UU School of Law) received a NWO-Rubicon grant to stay at the Institute for European and Comparative Law van Oxford University. Rubicon allows recently graduated, talented scientists to gain experience in foreign institutes.
In De Jong's research, he will analyse when the civil court judge can and may act in a regulatory manner and in so doing correct government policy.
This year, 21 postdoctoral researchers received a Rubicon grant from NWO. Besides De Jong, UU researchers Erik Kleyheeg, Muhammad Kaplan and Sandra de Pleijt received a scholarship. The funding is specifically intended to give promising young researchers the opportunity to gain international research experience.
