Public engagement

Engaging a broad and diverse audience in science is also known as Public Engagement. At Utrecht University, we see public engagement as part of Open Science. Open Science means: sharing scientific results and data and making them usable, and also making decisions together with people outside the academic community about what research should be about. This is essential to keep the relationship between science and society open and democratic.
