Anna Akhmanova, Bas van Bavel and Hajo Reijers appointed as KHMW members

New members of Koninklijke Hollandsche Maatschappij der Wetenschappen include three Utrecht professors

The Koninklijke Hollandsche Maatschappij der Wetenschappen (KHMW) has appointed 20 new members, including three Utrecht professors: Anna Akhmanova (Professor of Cell biology), Bas van Bavel (Professor of Transitions of economic and social history), and Hajo Reijers (Professor of Business process management & analytics). Together with approximately 480 other members, they are responsible for organising scientific activities that reduce the distance between citizens and science.

The Koninklijke Hollandsche Maatschappij der Wetenschappen was founded in 1752 on the initiative of seven prominent citizens of Haarlem, with the aim of 'promoting science' in the broadest sense of the word.

On 9 March, the new members and directors will be festively welcomed with a dinner at the historic Hodshon House in Haarlem.
