Symposium: The impact of climate change on parenting and growing up

A realistic and hopeful future

to

According to the KNMI, the climate in the Netherlands will change dramatically according to the most optimistic scenarios. This has major consequences for children, young people and their parents. And that requires something from the parties involved, such as teachers, educational staff in museums/institutions, communications experts, pedagogues, psychologists, policymakers and young people. Now and in the future.

What does climate change mean for parenting and growing up? And how do you look at a realistic and hopeful future with children and young people? On February 28, 2024, the Netherlands Youth Institute, Dynamics of Youth (Utrecht University) and the Young Climate Movement are organizing a symposium in Utrecht to share knowledge about this, with the aim that you can continue to work with it in your organization.

At the symposium, experts share knowledge from various perspectives. The final program will follow, but consider topics such as mental well-being, youth participation within companies and children's rights.

For whom?

Policymakers with a pedagogical responsibility to support youth, parents and fellow educators in growing up and raising children; youth organizations, also within the business community; pedagogues; psychologists, educational staff; teachers; researchers; children's rights advocates.
