Neurosymbolic AI

It is an accepted wisdom that developing truly intelligent and capable AI systems requires both symbolic and subsymbolic approaches to learning, knowledge representation and reasoning.

The goal of this Special Interest Group (SIG) is twofold. First, it wants to bring together various existing perspectives on symbolic AI, including knowledge representation and reasoning methods, within UU. Second, it aims to explore the interplay between various symbolic and sub-symbolic perspectives on AI.

These bridges can come in the form of partial translation routines between the two, but also in exploring systems that integrate symbolic and sub-symbolic perspectives,  in employing one of the perspectives for reasoning about the other, or in determining how far one of the perspectives can be emulated or incorporated into another.
