AI Lab Technology predictions for Sustainable Development Investment

Technology is a key enabler in the transition towards sustainable development. To accelerate actual investments in these technologies, investors like pension funds need insight which sustainable technologies are expected to growth in the next decade(s). The AI Sustainability Lab ‘Technology prediction for Sustainable Development Investments’ aims to develop this forward looking information and is focused on technologies for net zero carbon emissions.

Master students of Information & Computing Sciences will focus on two approaches to extract knowledge about technology growth, from patent- and scientific publication-data. These two approaches are machine learning for technology growth prediction and the use of knowledge graphs to identify relevant linkages between low carbon technology growth, patents and related company information. The AI lab provides interesting education challenges for master students on the crossroad of AI, sustainable development and finance.
