Projects and services

The Expertise Centre aims to offer the following core activities:

• PETscan: measurement of the incidence of diseases among companion animals in the Netherlands in order to objectively identify and prioritise the heritable diseases and harmful breed characteristics within pet populations.
• LICG-project: collecting information about the health of purebred animals for public information purposes.
• Reports
• Symposia and workshops
• Genetic research for the development of efficient new DNA diagnostic tools.
• Providing diagnostic DNA tests for veterinarians and kennel clubs, and scientific supervision of the optimal utilisation of these tests.
