As of 1 September 2016, Prof. Wiljan van den Akker will succeed Prof. Rosi Braidotti as director of the Centre for the Humanities (CfH). Braidotti has been the director for eight years, since she founded the Centre for the Humanities in 2008.

Rosi Braidotti is Distinguished University Professor at Utrecht University. She is a leading scholar in the fields of philosophy and gender studies. Her recent book Conflicting Humanities (edited together with Paul Gilroy) explores the question of how to reinvent the humanities.

The Centre for the Humanities at Utrecht University offers a platform for discussions concerning the broader socio-political relevance of the humanities.
