Would you like to sail with us? Super! Unfortunately, places on the boat are limited. Therefore, we encourage mainly queer and questioning* people to sign up. That way, on this day, we can stand up for our rights together, speak out against abuses and celebrate the progress we and our predecessors have made.

It gave so much energy to sail through the canals of Utrecht as one of the 50 selected participants. Especially because of the positivity and support of all the Pride visitors. The Utrecht Canal Pride 2023 was an unforgettable day full of love, fun and celebration.

Important to know

Only HU/UU students and employees can sign up and it is not possible to bring a +1 on the boat. The application form closes on Wednesday 17 April, after which places will be raffled off among the applications. About one week after the applications close, you will be told whether you will sail with us. In any case, put the date of the compulsory sailors' meeting on Wednesday 8 May in the afternoon/evening in your diary.

*Queer is an umbrella term for sexual and gender diverse people including but not limited to gay, bisexual, pansexual, transgender, intersex and non-binary/genderqueer people. By questioning persons we mean people who have not (yet) committed to a sexuality or gender identity
