The Utrecht Young Academy is looking for excellent young UU-researchers (between 0 and 8 years after receiving their PhD degree). Every year, 8 new members will join. Members are appointed for a period of 5 years. Each nominator can nominate 3 candidates. The Utrecht Young Academy aims to have a diverse representation of academics in its group of members. Diversity encompasses for UYA a number of aspects, such as, but not limited to: discipline, race, ethnicity, nationality, gender identity and sexuality. Our aim with this approach is to increase the participation of individuals from groups identified as underrepresented in academia on a national level.

Also, UYA endorses the broader recognition and rewarding of academic activities as elaborated within the framework of Open Science and the vision on Recognition and Rewards at Utrecht University. In making the selection we will take this framework into account in making the first selection (‘Quality of the CV’). See the following documents for more information on the selection procedure:

Nominations should be submitted to uya@uu.nl no later than 19 November 2021. The interviews will take place on 17 and 18 January 2022 (request for nominated candidates to keep these dates free). For more information, contact the secretary of the selection committee: Fati Shahrabi (uya@uu.nl).
