State Secretary follows all recommendations of working party led by dr. Willem Janssen

The unnecessary clustering of public contracts is high on the agenda of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate, VNO-NCW and many contracting authorities. Cleaning-, security and maintenance contracts are - for instance – often combined when tendered, which makes it hard or nearly impossible for SMEs to participate in public procurement procedures. In order to overcome this and other related issues, an advice was written for the State Secretary of Economic Affairs and Climate by a working party consisting of contracting authorities and market parties. In a letter to the Dutch Parliament, the State Secretary announced that she would follow all of the suggested recommendations.

The working party was chaired by dr. Willem Janssen. His role is part of his broader involvement since 2016 in the national committee in the Beter Aanbesteden (Better Public Procurement) program, which is led by the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate.
