After a shutdown of more than 3 years, during which several upgrades have been done to the detectors and accelerator, the LHC has restarted again. The article explains the upgrades, results and upcoming research for the experiments at the LHC.

Marco van Leeuwen, researcher at Nikhef and the Institute for Gravitational and Subatomic Physics (GRASP), explains the upgrades to the ALICE-detector and the impact for the measurements and results.

With the restart of the LHC, an interesting new period of data collection has started.
