Ms Joanne Kellermann appointed Chair of the Supervisory Board of Utrecht University

The Minister for Education, Culture and Science has appointed Joanne Kellermann (1960) as Chair of the Supervisory Board of Utrecht University with effect from 1 January 2020. Kellermann will be succeeding Prof. Emmo Meijer, who is to step down in December 2019.

The Supervisory Board is delighted with Kellermann's appointment to the position of Chair. She has an extensive international network and wide-ranging expertise in areas such as finance. The selection procedure for a successor to Kellermann as a member of the Supervisory Board is now under way. The other members of the Supervisory Board are Dr Jan van der Eijk (Vice Chair), Karin Bergstein MBA and Prof. Frank van der Duijn Schouten. The Board is extremely grateful to Emmo Meijer for the dedication and expertise he has shown as Chair over the past eight years.

Joanne Kellermann has been a member of Utrecht University's Supervisory Board since August 2014. She is currently a member of the Board's audit committee and has chaired the executive board of the pension fund for the health care and social welfare sectors PFZW since June 2019. Before this she was a full-time member of the Single Resolution Board (SRB). Situated in Brussels, the SRB forms part of the banking union and is responsible for resolution planning and crisis management for the major European banks. Prior to this, from 2007 onwards, she served on the executive board of De Nederlandsche Bank (DNB), where she was responsible for monitoring the financial sector. Kellermann is also a member of the executive board of P.R.I.M.E. Finance Foundation and of Aflatoun International.
