My primary focus has always been to facilitate and support all the great teaching and research taking place in our university to the best of my ability. I consider it of great importance in my work that I keep in touch with the people on the work floor, that I listen to what’s happening and what’s needed, and that we work together within existing frameworks to achieve optimal results.

Wide experience

Over the past few years, Jansen ran the department but also took on a number of projects and temporary roles within the university, such as leading a project that looks into the structure of faculty Research Support Offices. Jansen: “I recently worked as an interim coordinator of operational management in the Department of History and Art History at the Faculty of Humanities. This position as Director became available at just the right point in my career. I’m really looking forward to applying my wide experience within the Faculty of Humanities, a large faculty that is home to wonderful practices.”
