ICEL Special Issue: Call for Manuscript Proposals

This special issue aims to gather a diverse and comprehensive range of perspectives on International Community Engaged Learning (ICEL). We propose a working definition of ICEL for this call for proposal as an experiential education process involving collaborative efforts among students, teachers, and societal partners to tackle global challenges.

This special issue of the Journal of Higher Education Outreach and Engagement (JHEOE) is a collaboration with the Utrecht University Centre for Global Challenges (UGlobe). We cordially invite authors to contribute manuscripts to the special issue of JHEOE titled: “Building Bridges Through International Community-Engaged Learning: Intersections of Education, Collaboration, and Social Change.”

We welcome contributions from scholars and practitioners in the field with practical experience and/or theoretical knowledge of community-engaged learning. Guest editors seek contributions from a diverse group of contributors (Global South and North, early career, as well as more experienced scholars, education practitioners, policy specialists, etc.).
