Green Impact 2019, an update

Green Impact 2019 was launched in February, and boy have we been seeing some serious dedication! Currently, there are over 20 teams participating, accounting for about 100 people. Furthermore, the number of teams has doubled compared to last year, which warrants an applause for our Green Impact-coordinating duo, Marijn & Duccio.

Green Impact – What it’s about

The Green Impact challenge encourages employees and students of the UU to complete sustainability-oriented assignments. By encouraging them to compete with each other in a friendly way, rewarding them points based on how many green actions they do, the challenge inspires everyone to make their workplace more sustainable. Furthermore, we are also showing participants how easy and fun it can be to integrate sustainable thinking into their daily lives.

Speaking of which, check out this awesome drawing that Anne Kruijt (from the Zeegroen team) made to show her sustainable ambitions. Great job for a super lovely drawing Anne! You will definitely be earning points for that.

Green Impact Gala

The Green Impact competition will end with a gala, and this year, we’re making it big! In this celebration, we will reward all teams that worked hard to make the university more sustainable, with lots of fun prizes. This will take place in June, and the specific date and venue will be announced soon, so make sure you stay tuned and stay in touch.

Participating in Green Impact

Do you know any teachers or other UU employees who would like to do more in the field of sustainability? Or do you as a UU employee want to do more in this area in a fun, interactive and competitive way? Then take part in the Green Impact challenge, or make sure to spread the word! Registrations are still open, and if you are motivated, it is not too late to win (or to enjoy the game, if you just want to participate a little). With the Green Impact challenge, you can make your office the first point from which you’ll sail off towards a more sustainable future.

If you have any questions about this challenge, feel free to drop the Green Impact Team an email at greenimpact@uu.nl.
