Free Online Course on Human Rights starts 12 February 2018

The new edition of this MOOC (massive online open course) about Human Rights starts on 12 February. Participants are cordially invited to register now.

In this course,  Human Rights for Open Societies - An Introduction into the European Convention on Human Rights, Antoine Buyse, Janneke Gerards en Paulien de Morree explain how Human Rights are under pressure en how those rights can be protected. The European Convention on Human Rights is one of the most successful instruments for protecting human dignity and it is a crucial tool for achieving an open society. You will discover what this treaty is and how it aims to advance human rights and the idea of an open society in Europe.

  • The commitment: 6 Weeks of study, approximately 2-3 hours per week.
  • Topics will include: the right of demonstration, voting rights, discrimination, the refugee crisis and the protection of vulnerable groups in society.
