Ellen Gerrits awarded grant in exchange programme with University of Sydney
In the context of the University of Sydney – Utrecht University Partnership Collaboration Awards (PCA), Prof. Ellen Gerrits (Language processing and language pathology) receives a grant of € 9.250,- for her research project 'Tracking speech and language development of Dutch children migrating to Australia'.
Ellen Gerrits
Gerrits is professor Clinical Language, Speech and Hearing Sciences at Utrecht University and chair of the research group Speech and Language Therapy of HU University of Applied Sciences Utrecht. Her research programme focuses on the improvement of language and communication of people with speech and language disorders through innovation of speech and language therapy.
Besides her research activities she is involved in the Bachelor's and Master's teaching programmes in Speech and Language Therapy and Clinical Language, Speech and Hearing Sciences in Utrecht. Furthermore Gerrits is member of the board of the International Association for Logopedics and Phoniatrics (IALP) and president of the Dutch Association for Voice, Speech and Language Pathology (NVSST).
