Betweter Festival is looking for experiments

Join us!

On Friday evening 27 September 2024, TivoliVredenburg will host the eighth edition of the Betweter Festival. The arts & science festival where visitors immerse themselves in a unique mix of talks, music, film, interactive installations and live scientific research.

With almost 3,000 smart asses under one roof, the festival offers researchers a great opportunity to collect lots of data and get visitors excited about their research. Do you have an idea for a surprising scientific experiment and would you like to carry out your research at the festival? The deadline to submit a proposal is April 12.

Very nice to connect with a broadly interested audience and exchange with them about the questions we raise in our project, and to see all their different reactions.

We are looking for you!

In previous years, we conducted research into miracle stories and protest sign messages, among other things, and visitors could test whether they could distinguish real artworks from AI-generated ones. This year, too, we are looking for experiments that are interesting and stimulating for visitors to do, and who knows, maybe you will see opportunities to collaborate with a visual artist, actor or musician?

It is important that the experiment actually contributes to your research or data collection and has a short completion time (about 5 minutes), so that as many visitors as possible can participate. Proposals that only use surveys will not suffice. Does your research match this? Then we would like to receive your idea. Together with our designers, we will make sure your experiment is designed in an attractive way.

Send us your proposal using the application form (deadline: April 12)

What a great evening it was! And intense, I had to recover a bit afterwards. I am very satisfied with how it went, with many thanks for the fine preparation and guidance beforehand.
