Automatic cleaning of inactive guest accounts for Office 365 activated

As an employee or student at Utrecht University it is possible to invite guests in a Teams or SharePoint Teamsite or to share files with them via the OneDrive or SharePoint within Office 365. Guest users are people without an Utrecht University Solis-id. Until now these guest accounts remained active without an end date.

As of Monday 24 January, for security reasons, guest accounts of users who have not been active within the Utrecht University Office 365 environment for more than 13 months will be automatically deleted. After that period of inactivity, they will no longer have access to the Teams, SharePoint Teamsite or shared files.

Staff or students at Utrecht University can always grant a guest user access again based on the existing procedure. The guest user will receive a new invitation email. For help, please contact the IT Service Desk of Utrecht University.
