Dr Laura Karreman (Programme Coordinator)
Laura Karreman is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Media and Culture Studies. She researches the role of embodied knowledge in dance transmission practices, the role of digitization in performance archives, and epistemological questions that relate to new notions of ‘dance and performance knowledge.
Prof. Maaike Bleeker
Maaike Bleeker is Professor in and Chair of theatre studies. In her research she combines performance and dance studies with media theory and philosophy and engages with questions about perception, cognition, embodiment, in particular related to technologies of various kinds and science.
Prof. Frank Kessler
Frank Kessler is Professor in media history. His research is dedicated to early cinema and visual culture around 1900. He currently leads the European research project A Million Pictures: Magic Lantern Slides Heritage in the Common European History of Learning.
Prof. Nanna Verhoeff
Nanna Verhoeff is Professor in media and performance studies and specialises in (historically-grounded) comparative analysis of emerging media, with a key interest in contemporary transformations in screen culture. Her current research focuses on navigation and mobility, performative technologies, urban interfaces, (mobile) screens and installations, and location-based arts and media.
