For students looking for an extra challenge in addition to their Master's, there are several options.
A unique feature of the MA International Relations in Historical Perspective is the wide range of activities offered to our students.
Meet the Experts
The Master's programme hosts a ‘Meet the Expert’ Seminar Series featuring speakers from all over the globe from the fields of intelligence, diplomacy, government, journalism, NGOs, international organizations, as well as transnational companies.
With the 'Meet the Experts' Seminar Series, students take a look behind the scenes of international politics – broadly defined – to get a better understanding of how this works in practice. Listening to experienced and inspiring speakers often shows much about their career path and they will often share tips with the audience about how to achieve one’s professional ambitions. Students are expected to participate actively during these seminars by chairing the meetings and interviewing the experts.
Please note that the ‘Meet the Expert’ Seminar Series runs in accordance with the Chatham House Rule and that these take place in a closed setting, namely, participation is exclusively for the students of the MA in International Relations in Historical Perspective.
Meet your Future
This event is a careers fair with employers and successful alumni, organised (together with related MA programmes) under the flag of the Utrecht Centre for International Studies.
The MA in International Relations in Historical Perspective offers you the possibility to include an internship as part of your studies. During the ‘Internship Seminar’, which takes place in Study period 1 of the academic year, you will receive more information about how to apply for an internship; which internship may be best suited to your goals and ambitions and all the necessary paperwork to be completed in time. Read more about internships.
Honouring your curiosity
Utrecht University offers several honours programmes for students looking for an extra avenue to nurture their curiosity and foster their personal development.
