Extra opportunities

For students looking for an extra challenge in addition to their Master's, there are several options.

A unique feature of the MA International Relations in Historical Perspective is the wide range of activities offered to our students.

Meet the Experts

Students of the MA IRHP participate actively in the Meet-the-Expert seminar series where they meet professionals from the fields of intelligence, diplomacy, government, journalism, NGOs, international organizations, as well as transnational companies. These seminars give the students the opportunity to have a look behind the scenes of international politics – broadly defined – to get a better understanding of how this works in practice. Moreover, listening to experienced speakers can be inspiring to reflect on one’s own ambitions. The speakers often share tips with the audience about how to achieve one’s professional ambitions. Students are expected to take an active role in the seminars by co-organising the events, chairing the meetings and interviewing the experts.

Please note that the ‘Meet the Expert’ Seminar Series runs in accordance with the Chatham House Rule and that these take place in a closed setting, namely, participation is exclusively for the students of the MA in International Relations in Historical Perspective.

Internship seminar

The MA in International Relations in Historical Perspective offers you the possibility to include an internship as part of your studies. During the ‘Internship Seminar’, which takes place in Study period 1 of the academic year, you will receive more information about how to apply for an internship; which internship may be best suited to your goals and ambitions and all the necessary paperwork to be completed in time. Read more about internships.
