Dr Christopher Wareham (Programme Coordinator)
Christopher Wareham is an Assistant Professor at the Ethics Institute and Honorary Associate Professor at the Steve Biko Centre for Bioethics at Wits University in South Africa. He works on ethics of ageing, emerging biotechnologies, and African ethics.
Prof Franck Meijboom
Franck Meijboom is a Professor affiliated to both the Ethics Institute and the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine. His research focuses on animal- and food ethics. He is Head of the Centre for Sustainable Animal Stewardship, which strives to encourage a sustainable and responsible relationship between humans and animals.
Dr Jos Philips
Jos Philips is an Assistant Professor in Political Philosophy and Ethics at the Ethics Institute. He works on global justice (esp. human rights, poverty) and sustainability.
Prof Ingrid Robeyns
Ingrid Robeyns is a Professor of Ethics of Institutions. In her research, Robeyns focuses on the political and ethical evaluation and justification of institutions. She has, among many other things, worked on the capability approach, and she has pioneered an approach called limitarianism.
Dr Naomi van Steenbergen
Naomi van Steenbergen is an Assistant Professor, teaching ethics, political philosophy and the history of philosophy. Her research deals with climate ethics and with moral psychology, in particular personal responsibilities in situations of (practically) infinite moral demands.
Dr Lucie White
Lucie White is an Assistant Professor at the Ethics Institute, specialising in bioethics and the ethics of technology. She’s particularly interested in personal autonomy, personal identity, and, lately, COVID-19 and public policy. She received her PhD from the Australian National University in 2017, and worked for several years as a postdoc in Germany.
