Big History #3: Nature as an enemy and partner

to

In the year 2020, we often state that humans are alienated from nature. But was it different thousands of years ago? How did the relationship between man and nature develop, and what influence did man have on biodiversity? During Big History #3 on 24 November, Professor Jan Luiten van Zanden (Economic and Social History Utrecht University) and Dik van der Meulen construct this interaction in four steps - hunter-gatherer, farmer, industrialist and nature conservationist - which shows that man sometimes had a completely different influence on nature than one would expect.
