"I am a pragmatic communications advisor with a critical eye and curious attitude"

I work as senior advisor (science) communication for the Faculty of Geosciences and for the strategic theme Pathways to Sustainability.

At the Faculty of Geosciences, I give advise on what we stand for as a faculty and how we can illustrate that, how we can communicate all the great research done at the faculty in the best way, for which target groups an item is suitable and how we can reach that target group.

The strategic theme Pathways to Sustainability is a UU-wide programme that aims to stimulate and facilitate innovative and interdisciplinary research in the field of sustainability; to have researchers with different expertise and from different faculties collaborate with each other and with societal stakeholders on research and education towards a sustainable future for all. To this end, I write communication plans, ask critical questions about purpose and target groups, manage the website and social media channels, and contribute ideas on how to make an impact with our activities and projects.

My background as a seismologist and my experience as a communications advisor and press officer help me quickly understanding content and translating science to other target groups. Before joining Utrecht University, I worked at KNMI as a communications advisor and press officer. I am graduated as a seismologist and senior communications consultant.
