Dr. Christine Leopold (PhD, MSc) is an Assistant Professor of Drug Regulatory Science at the Center for Pharmaceutical Policy and Regulation / WHO Collaborating Center for Pharmaceutical Policy and Regulation of the Division of Pharmacoepidemiology and Clinical Pharmacy, within the Utrecht Institute for Pharmaceutical Science (UIPS).
Her research focus is on evaluating pharmaceutical policies along the product life cycle to assess strategies to improve affordable access to medicines. She has a particular interest in understanding European regulatory, HTA and pricing/funding processes within cancer care as well as for patients with rare diseases. In addition, she is interested in evaluating the changing role of pharmaceuticals and pharmaceutical services in primary care.
Her research experience includes managing and implementing systematic reviews, regression modelling, qualitative research, and cross-country health policy analyses. She feels passionate about bridging health policy and care delivery by tackling ethical considerations of priority setting in health care. She has more than 15 years of experience in leading interdisciplinary and multinational networks in pharmaceutical pricing and reimbursement policies.
