"Quantifying the sustainability of products and services is crucial for a successful transition to a circular economy."

Blanca is an assistant professor at the Energy and Resources group of the Copernicus Institute of Sustainable Development. Her main research interest and expertise are related with the sustainability and circularity assessments of products and services. She has more than ten years of experience in the life cycle sustainability assessment of innovative technologies and products. She develops and applies assessment approaches that can accurately quantify all the benefits and drawbacks of potential circular strategies in order to make informed decisions about which strategies to prioritise, and how to improve them.

She is involved as lecturer and/or course coordinator in several degree programs including the Global Sustainability Sciences Bachelor's programme and the Master's programmes Sustainable Development and Sustainable Business and Innovation. She has a deep belief on the power of education as one of the fundamental change agents that our society needs in order to achieve sustainable development. That belief, together with her internal drive to transfer knowledge and skills to others, is her main motivation for teaching.
