Anouk is PhD student at the Utrecht University School of Economics. Her research is in the field of applied microeconomics, at the intersection of family, gender, health and development economics. She studies household information sharing and decision-making, household conflict and intimate partner violence, and contraceptive use.
Anouk obtained her bachelor (BSc.) in Economics and Business Economics from Tilburg University (2020) and her research master (MSc.) Multidisciplinary Economics (cum laude) from Utrecht University School of Economics (2022).
Anouk visited Cornell University as a visiting graduate researcher at the Charles H. Dyson School of Applied Economics and Management during the 2025 spring semester.
In 2023 Anouk received the Best Master Thesis Award at Utrecht University.
