This project aims to uncover how normative framings of Dutchness as articulated through immigration policy are experienced, negotiated, and contested by Rotterdammers with multiple cultural backgrounds or affiliations, whether defined as 'expats', 'immigrants', 'bicultural', or 'person with a migration background'? It does so by utilizing a combination of large-scale text mining and small-scale ethnographic methods.
