Visiting researcher José Marcelo Ferreira Costa

José Marcelo Ferreira Costa is a visiting researcher (Erasmus exchange program) at the Utrecht Centre for Water, Oceans and Sustainability Law between February the 1st and June the 30th of 2017, under supervision of Professor Marleen van Rijswick. His research focuses on wind power energy projects (onshore or offshore) and how to mitigate or compensate its ecological negative effects.

He is a PhD candidate affiliated to the Faculty of Law at University of Coimbra (Portugal) since 2015, supervised by Professor Alexandra Aragão. He obtained his Bachelor of Laws Degree from the Public Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte in Natal, Brasil (1997) and his Master of Law Degree on Public Law from the Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo, Brasil (2002).
