Liesbeth Lijnzaad elected as ITLOS judge

The SUSTAINABLEOCEAN research project is proud to report that our Steering Committee member Prof Liesbeth Lijnzaad has been elected to serve as a judge of the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea (ITLOS).

Prof Lijnzaad was elected along with six other judges on 14 June 2017, at the twenty-seventh Meeting of States Parties to the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea. She was elected for a term of nine years, commencing on 1 October 2017. We congratulate Prof Lijnzaad, and wish her all the best in this endeavour!
