Leoniek Wijngaards-de Meij

As of 1 August, Leoniek Wijngaards-de Meij will hold a new chair in the Methods & Statistics department: Data use for innovation in Higher Education.

This chair will allow the Faculty of Social and Behavioural Sciences to use applied data science to improve the innovative capacity and quality of education and incorporate the relevant university and faculty policy into the faculty curricula. The scope of the chair therefore exceeds the departmental level.

Applied data science

Dr Leoniek Wijngaards-de Meij was director of education at Methods & Statistics and works as a Senior Fellow at the Centre for Academic Teaching to promote diversity and an inclusive culture in education. Her scientific interest lies in the area of multi-level analysis. Leoniek will use her knowledge and experience in the field of education innovation and data analysis to strengthen the relationship between research, policy and innovation in education.

Vice Dean

The appointment will take effect on 1 August, also the date on which Leoniek will start her role as Vice Dean for undergraduate studies of the faculty of Social Sciences.
