This spring the University Library City Centre hosts a unique James Joyce exposition. This exhibition, which is part of City2Cities Utrecht International Literature Festival, will focus on biographical and literary objects and shed a light on the author and person of Joyce. James Joyce-connoisseur Dr Onno Kosters opens the exhibition on 24 April.

A chronological route leads the visitor past highlights of Joyce's works, from the becoming of an artist, to the leaving of Dublin, to the writing and publishing of Ulysses (1922), to the controversy and censorship his work caused, his travels to Trieste, Zurich and Paris and with special attention to Joyce’s visit to Belgium and The Netherlands. Especially the beach at Scheveningen was enjoyed by Joyce, who stayed over in the Netherlands for just one month in 1927.
