Antoine Buyse spoke at KNAW Nobel Prize Evening

On 19 October in Amsterdam's public library, the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences (KNAW) organized its annual Nobel Prize Evening, in which Dutch academics present and explain the accomplishment of this year's laureates of the Nobel Prizes.

For the first time, the evening also included the Nobel Peace prize. Montaigne researcher prof. Antoine Buyse introduced the life and work of the two recipients, the Congolese doctor Denis Mukwege and the Iraqi author Nadia Mourad. Although this was the only non-scientific category, Antoine linked their courageous accomplishments in the field of combatting sexual violence against women to academic research insights from the last few decades.
