Action Agenda Better Public Procurement presented to State Secretary Keijzer

On February 16, the Dutch State Secretary for Economic Affairs and Climate Policy Mona Keijzer received the Actieagenda Beter Aanbesteden (Action Agenda Better Public Procurement) from former Dutch Member of Parliament Matthijs Huizing. During the last year, Willem Janssen LLM (PPRC, UU) has contributed substantively to this trajectory.

The Action Agenda exposes the problems occurring in Dutch public procurement practice. Concrete recommendations are made to resolve these problems. Themes that are dealt with are among others the position of procurement officers, collaboration between contracting authorities, risk aversion and the costs of tendering.

Janssen will stay active as chair of the working group on clustering (see Action nr. 6). Representatives of MKB Nederland, VNO-NCW and contracting authorities join forces in this working group to gain insight into the problems with regards to clustering and aim to come to recommendations to improve current practices.
