Academic and Professional Knowledge and skills

The programme teaches students a variety of both fundamental and applied research skills. These skills range from survey and qualitative data analysis to ‘getting the research landed’.

Career development support

We are striving to help students transform themselves into academically-minded professionals who are capable of performing effectively in their roles whilst taking into account the broader context in which societal issues arise and evolve.
The curriculum is designed to give students a firm grasp of the ‘real world’ of research. Accordingly, various courses include encounters with policy researchers and consultants, as well as case studies, dilemma exercises, and applied research assignments. Tutors, supervisors and the programme coordinators are all available to give students career advice and to open doors to the world of practice.
