PhD Day 2023 - Skilling me Softly

to

Personal effectiveness in academia and beyond

Every year the PhD council organises the PhD Day: an inspiring afternoon with plenary sessions and interactive workshops. The event will be closed with a dinner in the Botanical Gardens.

This year’s theme: Skilling me Softly - Personal effectiveness in academia and beyond
As PhD candidates, we continuously work on our academic skills: we write protocols, analyse data, and present our findings. These skills come to mind easily when we think of our day-to-day job and areas for improvement. What about receiving feedback, communicating verbally and non-verbally, or taking leadership of yourself? Soft skills are in the spotlight on the GSLS PhD Day 2023: our two plenary speakers will inspire you to hone these skills and you will improve in the skill of your choice in one of the seven workshops. Participate in the PhD Day to increase your personal effectiveness in the workplace – indeed in academia and beyond!
