The outcome of GO21, our restructuring process

As you might know, we have been working on improving the Green Office UU in the last year. We evaluated our structure and activities of the last eight years, processed your feedback, and spoke with many stakeholders within and outside UU. This month, we received approval to fully start deploying our next-level Green Office! What will this mean for you?

As the UU opens up again, our new way of working will unfold around you. Here are the most notable changes:

  • We will focus on initiating larger projects, getting them rolling, and handing them over to other organisations or independent project groups who will then be responsible for them. In this way, we will increase our impact, while giving other project groups the chance to gain more experience in project management.

  • We will actively collect ideas and input from our UU community, for example on how sustainability can be integrated more in university operations, education, and more.

  • We will adopt a faculty-oriented approach, where we will establish a Green Team in each university faculty. This way, the Green Office will be much closer to you. These teams will help us tailor our sustainable development projects to your faculty's needs, and will spread Green Office ambassadors far across the university's different buildings.

We wish you an excellent summer, and we hope to see you working with us or for us in the next academic year.

Best regards,

The Green Office Team
