Ora Oudgenoeg-Paz focuses on early motor and cognitive development. Her main interests include the relations between motor development and cognitive-linguistic development as well as (dual) language exposure in early life.

Inspired by embodiment theory, she studies how the attainment of central developmental milestones during infancy and early childhood affects the way children explore their environment and how this exploration contributes to the development of their spatial cognition and (spatial) language. She is also involved in studies into (dual) language exposure of young children from diverse social-economic bakgrounds and the effects of preschool education in this population, second language learning using social robots and cross-cultural diffrences in parental beliefs about motor development.
