If you are considering studying in Utrecht, it is important to know what it will cost to support yourself. During your stay in Utrecht, you can expect to spend between €800 and €1,400 a month on living expenses. This amount does not include your tuition fee.

How can you finance your studies?
The cost of studying and living can be financed by different sources of income:
- Parental contributions
- For parents who pay tax in the Netherlands, the cost of supporting children under 30 may be tax deductible (see the Belastingdienst (Dutch Tax and Customs Administration) website)
- Own financial means
- Working whilst studying
- For EU/EEA-students: Student finance (‘studiefinanciering’ in Dutch) is the funding service for university students distributed by DUO (the executive agency of the Dutch Ministry of Education). Further details can be found on the DUO website.
