Vera Snijders obtained her bachelor's degree at University College Tilburg and her research master's degree (Development and Socialization in Childhood and Adolescence; DaSCA) at Utrecht University. During her studies, she developed an interest in language development and multilingualism. In her internship and thesis, she researched the language development of premature children. 

Vera is currently employed as a PhD candidate in the NWO Vici project awarded to prof. dr. Elma Blom "Children and Language Mixing: developmental, psycholinguistic and sociolinguistic aspects (CALM)". During her PhD research, she will focus on the influence of social, linguistic and cognitive factors on children's language mixing behaviour.
