Curriculum vitae Prof. Dr. Robert-Jan Simons

 

P. Robert-Jan Simons graduated in Psychology (developmental and educational) at the University of Amsterdam in 1973 and worked as a researcher in the universities of Amsterdam, Nijmegen and Tilburg. His PHD on the role of concrete analogies in learning took place at Tilburg University (1981). From 1990 to 2001 Simons was professor of educational psychology at the University of Nijmegen, where he directed the Research Institute for Pedagogy and Education. Since 2001 he has a chair at Utrecht University focusing on learning with ICT. From 2006 - 2010 he was dean of the IVLOS institute of Education at Utrecht University. Since 2010 he is director of the Netherlands School of Educational Management (NSO), an institute based in Amsterdam that educates school leaders.
