Dr. Marjo van Koppen is full professor variation linguistics of Dutch at the department Languages, Literature and Culture and  the department of Dutch language and culture. She is affiliated with the research institute UiL-OTS and the research group Language Structure: Variation and Change.

Her research and teaching are mainly focused on Dutch linguistics. Her main interest concerns diversity in Dutch syntax: the syntax of Dutch dialects and older stages of Dutch. She investigates those variants of Dutch from a generative perspective.
