Lea Kröner is a PhD candidate in the Department of Sociology at Utrecht University and the Interuniversity Center for Social Science Theory and Methodology (ICS). She obtained her BSc in Social Sciences at the University of Cologne in 2020. Subsequently she obtained her MSc in Sociology and Social Research at Utrecht University in 2022. The aim of her PhD project is to examine the characteristics of women without a paid job and social benefits in the Netherlands and to explain why these women do not have a paid job and social benefits using a life course perspective. The project is part of a larger program within the National Research Agenda for strengthening the economic resilience of women.
