Dr. Joris Wijnker is a visiting researcher at the Institute for Risk Assessment Sciences – Department Population Health Sciences, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine.

PhD 2009 / Registered since 2009 as Specialist Veterinary Public Health (RDVA).

In addition he is serving in the Royal Netherlands Army as brigade-veterinarian with the Operational Support Command Land and with the NATO C2 Centre of Excellence.

Joris is the chairman of the Animal Disaster Education (ADE) Foundation, which is established to train and educate first responders and other people involved in providing first aid to animals in crisis situations.

Joris was the initiator of the V-PWR project, a research project focussing on the application of assistance dogs with veterans suffering from PTSD.
