Jeroen Janssen is Associate Professor for the Education Department at the Faculty of Social Sciences
In his research, Janssen mainly focuses on interaction processes and self-regulation in education and investigates how educational technology can support this. Janssen combines education and research by focusing on educational research in his teaching. He makes the importance of educational research for educational practice clear through lectures, blogs and social media.
As a senior fellow at the Center for Academic Teaching, Janssen works on various innovation projects for first-generation students. Among other things, how the transition from the secondary school to the university can be made easier for this group.
Janssen is program director of the Bachelor of Educational Sciences, the Academic Teacher Training in Primary Education and the Master of Educational Sciences. He is also a member of the Editorial Board of the International Journal of Computer-Supported Collaborative Learning and Associate Editor of the Journal of Computer Assisted Learning.
